Co-founded in 2018 as an all-volunteer grassroots collective, MCCJ grew into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2023. They collaborate to build community food forests, teach workshops, provide a rural perspective on policy, defend legacy forests so that they become old growth, develop a Just Transition, and organize our community to take charge of our shared future.
