Phoebe Cross

Phoebe is an Environmental Educator and community engagement professional dedicated to strengthening the field of environmental education through collaboration and connection. As the Executive Director of Eco-Net, Phoebe leads regional efforts to connect, support, and amplify environmental educators across the South Sound. A lifelong animal advocate, Phoebe is especially passionate about nurturing empathy for animals and deepening relationships between people and the natural world. She lives on the shores of the Sound with her husband, Ryan, and their rescued dogs, cats, and rabbit, who are a constant source of joy and inspiration.

Jennifer Johnson

Jennifer has been encouraging people to learn how they impact the world around them for over three decades. She is a proud graduate of TESC from the class of 1998. She loves to swim, grow and eat food, write, and connect in community. These passions form her core values of clean water and healthy air for everyone. She works as an Education and Outreach Specialist for Thurston County Public Health on the Healthy Homes and Yards team and helps her family care for a 10 acre organic farm and forest for the future. She has been a member and leader of the South Sound Eco-Network for many years and is a trusted and valuable community resource.

Faye Peebles

Faye is the Education Manager at Wolf Haven International. She has been an Environmental Educator for Wolf Haven since 2016. Faye has a bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Ecology and a Master’s in Environmental Education. Along with being a National Geographic certified educator, she is also Certified as an Interpretive Guide (since 2018) and an Interpretive Guide Trainer (since 2022) through the National Association of Interpretation. Faye has been an informal educator for most of her adult life. She brings deep experience, valuable insight, and steady leadership to Eco-Net.

Cynthia Taylor

Cynthia is an Education and Outreach Specialist for Thurston County’s Community Planning Department and Thurston County’s Stream Team. Cynthia earned a master’s in environmental education from WWU, deciding that the best gift she could give the planet was to help people understand and protect the places they reside. She enjoys traveling, exercising her mind and body, and immersing herself in nature, solitude and water. She and her husband are the proud parents of one daughter. Cynthia is a collaborative leader and cornerstone resource for educators throughout the region.
