South Sound Bird Alliance is a chapter of the National Audubon Society and represents Lewis, Mason, and Thurston counties in the state of Washington. It is an all-volunteer-based, non-profit organization whose 1,300+ members share interests in birds and other wildlife, their habitats, and natural history.

Since 1994, the Native Plant Salvage has been doing work to protect water resources and improve habitat. While focused in Thurston County, they interact with communities throughout the Salish Sea.

The Squaxin Island Garden is located in the Kamilche Valley, which is translated to English as “the Peaceful Valley”, on a ten-acre parcel. The Garden features forested wetlands lined with native plants, an abundant orchard, a small berry field and a thriving vegetable garden. The Garden was established in 2016 with the mission to increase access to culturally relevant foods, as well as locally-grown organic produce.

Olympia Ecosystems is a non-profit organization that has created four preserves in and around Olympia, Washington. They mobilize an enthusiastic volunteer workforce and partner with like-minded organizations to replace invasive species with thriving pacific northwest adapted plants.
